MLP Weekly #54 : exhibition of Magali Castellon and Francis Candau
This week, sculptor Francis Candau invited artist Magali Castellon to exhibit her prints in his gallery. The result is a clever blend of two seemingly opposing arts, yet perfectly in harmony. Poetry, elegance, a touch of madness…
The exhibition is visible until July 9 every afternoon from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the workshop-gallery of Francis Candau, rue du pont de fer in Castelfranc. The opening on Saturday July 1st was a real success.
MLP Weekly #53 : sunset in the fog
I don’t get rid of this river with this sunset, these hills, this bridge, this view. Never the same.

MLP Weekly #52 : Transhumance in Luzech
Like every year, the sheep leave Rocamadour to arrive in their new pasture in Luzech: it is transhumance, a moment of sharing, of conviviality, where the public is invited to accompany the flock and its shepherds. p>
Arriving in Luzech, the sheep stay for a while on the canal square for the pleasure of young and old. I take the opportunity to shoot the stars of the day, and one of them with a cute little black head attracts my attention.
Horses and donkeys parade for carriage rides. The atmosphere is good-natured, and the sun appeared just for the event.
MLP Weekly #50 : Bordeaux at Christmas
Night walk in Bordeaux during the Christmas holidays. A traveling clockwork, cozy bars, lights, exhausted bicycle delivery men, a very stylish sofa that imposes itself on a square…
MLP Weekly #51 : Pyrénées-Orientales - february 20218
I’m in the middle of writing routes in the Pyrenees for the new Petit Futé collection. dedicated to eco-responsible tourism. This took me back to my stays in the region, notably at the foot of Mont Canigou, with very dear friends, Clémentine and Thomas Basty, who run the film production company Image Force. Small anthology of memories of Pyrénées-Orientales landscapes with a detour via Pas de la Casa.
MLP Weekly #49 : immersion in Cahors court
I had the chance to see the Court of Cahors as few people can see it. For Dire Lot, I immersed myself in the heart of civic life, the heart of justice, to better understand how it works and unravel certain preconceived ideas. I was able to meet the President of the Court, Ms. Sophie De Borggraef, and the Public Prosecutor, Mr. Alexandre Rossi, and take photos of the courtroom, all alone in this magnificent space. And if you’re wondering, yes, I lay down on the floor to take a photo of its ceiling.
MLP Weekly #48 : walk in Gourdon
As part of a mission for Petit Futé in the Lot, I went on a road trip with my dog towards Gourdon. I had never taken the time to stroll through its charming little streets. The light of a late spring afternoon turned the stone an incredible golden color. I also had the chance to visit La Maison du Sénéchal, Gourdon Architecture and Heritage Interpretation Center, with its manager Anne-Marie Angaut, generous with her explanations and passionate about her subject. It also allowed me to admire exceptional works from the city’s archives: an Evangeliary on which the Consuls of Gourdon took their oath when they took office, dated from the 12th and 13th century, in parchment, as well as a collection trial from the 14th century whose cover is a work of art in itself, carved in wood and leather with brass bolts.
MLP Weekly #47 : Francis Candau's work place
No, behind this helmet, it is not the 3rd member of Daft Punk, but the sculptor Francis Candau. In the small Lot village of Castelfranc, he creates metal sculptures: animals, strange men, abstract sculptures, and designer creations such as lamps, seats or tables. Influenced by artists Julio Gonzalez and David Smith, but also Lynn Chadwick, he invites us into his universe.
MLP Weekly #46: the Lot under the snow
It had been years since the Lot had seen its snowy landscapes. I took the road towards Souillac the day after the snowfall, thinking that it had melted quickly and that the roads would be clear. But, once past Uzech-les-Oules, the landscape became magical, and the snow depth was much greater than expected. I couldn’t resist the urge to stop numerous times to immortalize the valleys and forests of Lot under the snow and the sun.
