The Cahors Heritage and Research Library is one of the most beautiful in France, as you can see in these photos. It dates from the 19th century, and is still very much alive: it welcomes students and researchers, a few curious people (like me), and the public for workshops, exhibitions and conferences.

I visited it for an article dedicated to it in Dire Lot magazine. When I walked through the door, and I discovered this staircase bathed in light, I knew immediately that I was not going to be disappointed. Indeed, the huge hall transported me to a film set, back in time, to some classic novels.
